“How can I describe the works I create? For some observers, it is optical art, or kinetic art, or even more simply geometric art. I would say that some of my drawings are optical or kinetic art and that others are part of a rather algorithmic field in the sense that a rigorous construction rule is sometimes implemented. I have sought for a relatively recent period to produce relief but for the moment it is on the gradient that I focus my attention, the transition from dark areas to frankly bright areas. In all cases, it is geometric drawing that I practice and when I embark on a new production, it is always with a very precise idea in mind but without always knowing what effect it will produce in the end. It is also always with the same tools: a graduated ruler and/or a circular template also graduated, two tubular pens, a bottle of Indian ink, a page of calculations to correctly position the different elements of my composition and… a good dose of patience to last 30 or 40 hours of work, sometimes much more.”
